Pick a color from anywhere on your Mac
See a color you like? Capture it from any application, website, photograph, or display using Suisai's global keyboard shortcut.
Every sampled color is automatically copied to your clipboard in your chosen format and added to a menu bar collection, ready to use immediately or turn into a palette later.
A native macOS color toolbox. No Screen Recording permission, no account, and no subscription.
Capture colors without interrupting your work
Press ⌥⌘P from anywhere on your Mac to activate the native macOS color picker. Select a pixel and its color is immediately copied to your clipboard in your preferred output format.
You don't need to switch applications or bring Suisai to the foreground. Keep working where you are, and sample more colors whenever something catches your eye.
The clipboard carries both a formatted color value and a color representation that compatible design applications can use directly. Paste into a code editor to insert the value, or into an application that accepts color data to use the color itself.
You can customize the shortcut, use the menu bar picker instead, or cancel a selection without changing your collected colors.
Capture colors in the format you need
Choose from forty-three individual color code formats, including HEX, CSS, Swift, Objective-C, Android, Java, .NET, and more.
Set your preferred format once, and every sampled color is automatically copied using that representation. There's no need to convert the value manually before using it in another application.
You can also retrieve any collected color in a different format using Copy As, without changing your usual settings.
For more control, Suisai lets you configure numerical precision, HEX capitalization, spacing, and other format-specific options.
No macOS privacy permissions required
Suisai uses the native macOS color picker to sample pixels from your screen. It doesn't require Screen Recording permission or any other persistent permissions granted through macOS Privacy & Security settings.
Your sampled colors stay on your Mac. Suisai doesn't record your screen, upload your colors, collect usage analytics, or require an account.
The direct-download version checks for updates through a separate sandboxed helper, without reporting your installed application version or sending information about the colors you've sampled. Version comparisons take place locally.
File operations, such as saving palettes or installing them into the macOS system color picker, may require confirmation from macOS when you choose where to save them. These are authorizations for specific file operations, not ongoing privacy permissions.
For the full details, see our privacy policy.
Collect colors as you work
Suisai stays accessible from your Mac's menu bar, displaying the last color you sampled in its icon. Open the menu to see your recent selections, each with its color value and suggested name.
Copy a color again, retrieve it in another format, or send individual colors into an open palette. You can also add your entire recent collection to a new or existing palette with a single command.
It's a convenient way to collect inspiration throughout the day without stopping to organize every color as soon as you find it.
Suisai suggests color names from a collection of 31,914 named shades, matched using OKLab. Once you've gathered your colors into a palette, you can rename individual swatches, arrange them however you like, and save the finished palette to your Library for future use.
Turn your collected colors into something more
A sampled color can become part of a new palette, the starting point for a harmony, or one end of a color ramp. You can also send colors to the Color Bench to compare them or experiment with spectral pigment mixing.
Collect colors from different applications throughout the day, bring them together into a palette, and return to them whenever you need them.
Suisai's tools are designed to work together, so capturing a color is just the beginning of what you can do with it.
