Suisai collects nothing

Suisai doesn't collect your personal information, track how you use the application, or upload your palettes and images.

This page explains what stays on your Mac, how the optional update check works, and what information is processed when you visit the website or make a purchase.

The app

Suisai doesn't validate licenses online, load remote resources for its normal operation, or report how you use the application. There's no account to create and nothing to sign in to. The application runs in the macOS sandbox and requires no permissions granted through System Settings → Privacy & Security.

The direct-download version has one optional network-related function: checking for software updates. Normally once a day, a separate sandboxed helper retrieves a static file called the appcast, which lists the available versions of Suisai. The installed application compares that information with its own version locally, on your Mac.

The update server isn't told which version you have installed, and every Mac receives the same appcast. If an update is available and you choose to install it, the helper downloads the update file.

The update check uses the following HTTP request headers:

The request identifies Suisai, but doesn't report the installed version, a unique device identifier, your Mac's configuration, your language preferences, or anything about your palettes or work.

Through version 1.0.4, the request also included the application's version and the updater's version. Since 1.0.5, neither has been included.

As with any network request, the receiving server can see connection information, including your IP address and the time of the request. How this information is handled is explained under hosting below.

The main Suisai application has no network-access entitlement. Update checks and downloads are handled by the separate sandboxed helper, with network access restricted to that purpose.

You can disable automatic update checks in Settings. With update checks disabled, the direct-download version makes no application-initiated network requests. New releases are announced on the changelog, so you can still check for updates manually.

The Mac App Store version relies on Apple's update system instead. It doesn't use Suisai's update helper or make its own network requests.

Your settings and recent picks are kept in macOS user defaults on your own Mac. Palettes are files you save where you choose. Folders you ask Suisai to watch are remembered as security-scoped bookmarks so it can read them again without asking each time. None of this leaves the machine.

A picture you open is read into memory on your Mac and sampled for color. Nothing about it is stored, linked or written anywhere: not a copy, not a thumbnail, not a path back to the original. Saving a palette keeps the colors, never the picture. It's never uploaded.

Suisai doesn't include a third-party crash reporter or send crash reports to the developer.

macOS may generate diagnostic and crash reports as part of Apple's own system functions. Whether diagnostic information is shared with Apple or app developers depends on your macOS privacy settings and Apple's reporting mechanisms.

For Mac App Store installations, Apple may make privacy-protected diagnostic reports available to developers when the relevant sharing options are enabled. Suisai doesn't receive those reports directly from the application.

For direct-download installations, you can choose to send diagnostic information when contacting support.

This website

Every typeface is served from this domain rather than from a font CDN. The site runs a little of its own script, all of it from this domain: it remembers which theme you chose, picks which of a screenshot clip's two versions to load, and runs the free tools described below. It sets no cookies and records nothing. While you read, no script is fetched from anyone else's server. Pressing Buy loads a script from Paddle; that's under Buying, and it happens then and not before.

The free tools on this website run locally in your browser. The ASE/GPL converter reads and converts palette files without uploading them. The color-code converter and WCAG contrast checker perform their calculations locally, including palette comparisons and Reach adjustments.

The colors and files you provide to these tools aren't sent to Suisai's servers or retained by the website.

Once a tool has loaded, its calculations don't require a network connection.

It's hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Delivering a web page requires the host to receive the request, so Cloudflare processes connection data including IP addresses in order to serve the site and to protect it from attack. That's true of every website and every host, and it's not something done in addition to serving you.

Suisai doesn't add analytics scripts, tracking pixels, or profiling tools to the website. Cloudflare processes connection and request information to deliver and protect the site, under its own privacy practices. Aggregate traffic information may be available through Cloudflare's hosting tools.

Buying

Direct purchases are handled by Paddle, our merchant of record. Paddle processes payments, issues receipts, and manages the information required for the transaction under its own privacy policy.

Suisai doesn't receive your payment-card details.

The website loads Paddle's checkout integration when you choose to purchase, rather than loading its checkout script as part of ordinary browsing. Once checkout opens, Paddle handles the transaction and its associated personal information.

Contact and customer information

Suisai doesn't require an account or collect personal information through the application.

If you contact us for support, we'll receive the information you choose to include in your message and use it to respond to your request.

Purchases are processed by the relevant merchant or platform. Their transaction records and privacy practices are separate from Suisai's application data handling.
