Seven color harmonies

Find colors that work together

Suisai offers seven calculated harmony modes: Complementary, Split Complementary, Analogous, Triadic, Tetradic, Square, and Monochromatic. Each explores a different relationship between colors, from opposing hues to neighboring shades and variations of a single hue.

Start with a color you've sampled, enter a value directly, or drag one in from an existing palette. Suisai calculates the related colors automatically. Adjust a seed color and watch the entire harmony respond in real time.

Analogous and Monochromatic harmonies support adjustable counts from 3 to 15 colors, letting you explore a broader range of neighboring hues or variations of a single hue.

When you find something you like, transfer individual colors or the complete harmony into a regular palette. Each swatch then becomes independently editable, ready for further refinement or use in your projects.

Color ramps

Explore the colors between two shades

Choose two colors and generate a transition between them, with anywhere from 3 to 15 steps. Adjust either endpoint or change the number of steps, and Suisai recalculates the entire ramp immediately.

Choose between sRGB and OKLab interpolation. sRGB blends numerical color values directly, while OKLab uses a more perceptually uniform color space that often produces smoother, more visually consistent transitions.

…and through OKLab

Switch between the methods to compare the results, or keep two windows open side by side: the setting belongs to the window, so one can run sRGB while the other runs OKLab. Then transfer your favorite colors or the complete ramp into an editable palette.

Spectral mixing

Mix colors like paint

Color relationships don't have to end with calculated harmonies. Suisai's Color Bench uses a spectral pigment model based on Kubelka–Munk theory, producing mixtures that behave more like physical paints than conventional RGB averaging.

Place two colors on the Bench and adjust their mixing ratio, adding white or black to create lighter or darker variations. Change either starting color and the mixture updates automatically.

Keep the resulting color on the Bench for further experimentation, or add it to a palette alongside the harmonies and ramps you've created.
